Nutrition for hypermobility conditions presented by Savita Sandhu, APD
Dietetic intervention and practical nutrition for Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder and Ehlers Danlos Syndromes.
Hypermobility conditions are under-diagnosed connective tissue disorders that can result in a range of clinically important symptoms, including gastrointestinal symptoms. Getting to know more about hypermobility gives us the chance to recognise the underlying causes of these digestive concerns and work more skilfully to offer appropriate and more helpful advice.
Learn about:
- How stretchy connective tissue is more than just an issue for joints (hint: connective tissues are in all body systems)
- The value of recognising symptoms of MCAS and POTS in this population
- Why we should consider dietary restriction as a secondary consideration for these GI issues
This presentation covers:
- Overview of hypermobility conditions
- Dietetic assessment including for common GI symptoms
- Practical nutrition support
- Case Study
