Education in Nutrition was created by us, Sophie Blackmore and Jo Tyler, after meeting while watching our sons playing footy. On this first meeting the idea of Education in Nutrition was born and by 2011 we were up and running. After a year of live seminars we went on to develop online professional development for dietitians and nutritionists.
From the beginning, we developed Education in Nutrition to provide independent, evidence-based presentations and case studies that can be used towards assessable professional development. We are proud of our independence; our ‘committee of two’ gives us the freedom to select a vast array of topics to meet the continually evolving needs of dietitians and nutritionists. Education in Nutrition has never been just a job; it’s our passion. We look forward to welcoming you to our community of talented dietitians and nutritionists. We have recently welcomed Education in Exercise to the family.
Sophie BlackmoreMy aim is to create the space in which the many and amazing talented dietitians share with each other the great work they are doing. I myself am an accredited practicing dietitian and registered nurse with more than 28 years’ practical experience working in health care. I currently live and work in Melbourne in private practice. I have written two books on nutrition: Fast Food and No Play Make Jack a Fat Boy: Creating a Healthier Life for You and Your Family (Pan Macmillan, 2005), and Nourish: Food for Your Baby (Ibis Publishing, 2004). And in 2012 I developed an App eNutrition for dietitians to easily calculate client energy and nutrient requirements. |
