PCOS - Current research and practical applications presented by Dr Stephanie Pirotta, PhD, APD
Dr Stephanie Pirotta provides an evidence-based update on the management of PCOS from a dietetic perspective. Drawing on her clinical and research experience, she explores the pathophysiology of PCOS, diagnostic criteria, and key dietary strategies that support symptom management and long-term health. A central focus is the DASH dietary pattern, which outperforms other dietary approaches in improving insulin resistance and cardiovascular risk factors. Steph also discusses nutrients of concern, supplement use, disordered eating, and the importance of an individualised, non-diet approach. She includes a case study illustrating complex and compassionate care. Steph provides clinical expertise, clear recommendations, and illustrates the importance of the therapeutic relationship.
