Applying mindful eating in nutrition counselling presented by Vincci Tsui, RD Canada

Practical tools for enhancing nutrition practice

Inviting engagement by including mindful eating in your everyday practice can offer an interactive and impactful approach to nutrition support. Mindful eating can be misunderstood and mis-applied. Being clear on mindfulness principles and having a considered purpose for introducing it in 1:1 clinical interactions is valuable. Vincci Tsui RD encourages us to be creative with experiential learning experiences and offers considerations for setting this up well.

Learn about:

  • 4 principles of mindfulness practice
  • Why what we as clinicians bring into the room matters- the spirit of mindfulness
  • Deepening your consideration regarding when and why to introduce mindful eating

This presentation covers:

  • What is mindful eating (and what it is not)
  • Benefits of mindfulness and mindful eating
  • How to integrate mindfulness and mindful eating in nutrition counselling in a client-centered fashion
  • Examples of mindfulness and mindful eating activities to use in practice
