Clear and engaging, Tom Scully, a queer dietitian and Credentialled Eating Disorder Clinician, offers an overview of identity language, and of mental health disparities in LGBTIQA+ communities. Th minority stress model gives insight to underlying functions of eating disorder behaviours and body concerns. His approach, both informative and affirming, emphasises the importance of inclusive care and the need for practitioners to understand the broader sociocultural context in which their clients exist.

Tom Scully (any pronouns) is a queer dietitian and Credentialled Eating Disorder Clinician (CEDC-D) working as clinical team leader at Mind Body Well - a multidisciplinary clinic with a focus on eating disorders, body image concerns, as well as broader physical and mental illnesses. As clinical team leader Tom provides clinical support to the dietitian and psychologist teams, supervision to external dietitians, and manages a caseload with a special interest in working with LGBTIQA+ communities and men’s health. Tom has also conducted professional development opportunities through Australia and New Zealand Academy for Eating Disorders (ANZAED) and Dietitians Australia (DA).
