Inflammatory bowel disease is a condition which is increasing in its prevalence and Australia and New Zealand have some of the highest rates in the world. As dietitians we are well aware of how disabling this condition can be. There are continuous advances in the treatments of IBD, as well as greater understanding of the importance of nutrition in the management of IBD. In his presentation Dr Iyngkaran clarified the diagnosis and management of IBD and explained in detail to the nutritional considerations.
