Nutritional deficiencies in the gluten free diet presented by Sally Marchini APD
This presentation gives an excellent overview of the nutrient deficiencies that can (and do) occur in those with coeliac disease, but also in anyone choosing to follow a gluten free diet. Selection of appropriate naturally gluten free foods that provide important nutrients is essential, as processed foods do often not contain equivalent nutrients found in gluten containing counterparts. Pregnancy combined with coeliac disease creates greater risks of deficiencies and so this is an important time when expert advice is also needed.
