Sports Nutrition 3 Part series by Sarah Dacres-Mannings Sports Dietitian Fellow (Education)
Sarah Dacres-Mannings has had more than 25 years’ experience as a sports dietitian. She has been a sports nutrition expert for DAA since 2000, is a Sports Dietitian Fellow (Education), an Advanced Sports Dietitian and has been a Level 3 in ISAK anthropometry (body composition measurement) for 16 years.
We were delighted to have Sarah present a series of three sports nutrition webinars for us. There is a great deal of confusion and misinformation around regarding sports nutrition and if you are not trained as a sports dietitian you may feel unqualified to answer simple nutrition queries about sport. After watching Sarah’s webinars we hope you will have confidence to answer some of these queries.
In Part 1, Sarah described the basics of sports nutrition for competition. Part 2 examined the critical issue of hydration, and in Part 3 Sarah explained protein requirements and the controversial issue of supplement use in sport.
