Mindfulness, breathing and movement embodiment. Presented by Susanne Goldin AEP

Incorporating skills to enhance exercise experience and invest in your resilience as a health practitioner

If mindfulness is an attitude we can bring to everything we do, then bringing mindfulness to movement is a great place to start. Or perhaps, a great place to expand your practice.
Experimenting with simple techniques can promote embodiment and connection in our prescription practice- both for our clients, enhancing their experience of exercise, and for us, as we develop resilience in our role as health professionals.

It can be sprinkling in moments of mindfulness and body connection throughout a session of traditionally non-mindful movement. It can be using transitions between client sessions to turn towards, rather than away, from yourself.

Mindfulness, meditation and exercise are all independently effective in improving physiological health. Susanne unpacks how further research is needed to better understand traditionally embodied movement disciplines as well as applying their approaches to other movement practices.

We are offered two clear directives to ground us as we experiment:

Keep it simple + Don’t take it too seriously.
