Iodine intake among Australians is low and many people are at risk of iodine deficiency.
The low intake of iodine is due to removal of iodine-containing sanitizers in the dairy industry, low intakes of iodine-rich seafood, and general lack of awareness about the importance of iodine in the diet.
A snapshot on iodine has been created by Isabella Fedele, APD to bring awareness of the importance of iodine, and illustrate common food sources.
