About the Presenter

Adriana Duelo, Registered Dietitian (Spain), Predoctoral Researcher is a Spanish dietitian with a Master's in Nutrition and Public Health and currently finishing her PhD at the University of Barcelona, examining the  amines and bioactive polyamines of food. She is a member of the scientific committee of the International Society of DAO Deficiency and is actively involved in the clinical and scientific advances of this histamine metabolic disorder. Both her final career work (2011) and her final master's work (2017) were dedicated to the deficit of the DAO enzyme and its treatment. She is a member of the Spanish Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Adriana’s passion is to share her knowledge, research and the latest scientific updates related to DAO deficiency as widely as possible. With this objective in mind, she and her team established the International Institute of DAO deficiency. This healthcare organisation aims to facilitate global access to specialists for patients with DAO deficiency.

Adriana leads a program which provides training and licensing to dietitians who would like to specialise in DAO deficiency. More information can be found here.
