Wallet Card: Reading Food Labels

These useful wallet cards are designed as a simple tool to assist your clients on decoding food labels.

The suggested “what to look for” numbers on the card for saturated fat and sodium are based National Heart Foundation guidelines (Heart Foundation Position Statement dietary fats and dietary sterols for cardiovascular health, 2009; Salt and Hypertension Professional Paper, 2007)

The added sugar figure is drawn from the World Health Organization’s new guideline: Sugars Intake for Adults and Children (Geneva, World Health Organization, 2015).
