About the presenter
Dr Cate Lombard APD, PhD is head of Healthy Lifestyle Research at the Monash Centre for Health Research and Implementation. Cate has extensive experience addressing issues related to women’s health across the lifespan and particularly at midlife through research, education and the media. Cate has worked at both state and national level, developing and managing physical activity and healthy eating programs, as well as educating health professionals and the community. Cate’s early research includes the first human randomised controlled trial assessing the role of phytoestrogens in menopausal hot flushes. More recently, her research focus has been on the prevention of weight gain in women across the lifespan. She has developed the HeLP-her program, an award-winning evidence-based program to prevent weight gain in women, now being implemented across Victoria with the support of the Victorian Department of Health.
