About the Presenter
Kylie Russell is a New Zealand Registered Dietitian at Auckland City Hospital, and specialises in gastroenterology, upper gastrointestinal surgery, hepatology and liver transplant. As a specialist dietitian in liver disease, she provides dietetic services to the New Zealand Liver Transplant Unit (NZLTU). The NZLTU provides a quaternary level service, and is the sole transplant unit in New Zealand. Kylie has a strong interest in research and has recently completed a Clinical Masters Degree through the University of Auckland’s Department of Surgery, investigating the efficacy of immuno-nutrition in patients undergoing liver resections. Kylie is also a guest lecturer for Auckland University and Massey University Dietetic Training Programs.
