About the presenter
Dr Jessica Browne has a PhD in health psychology from the University of Wollongong, which focused on preventative health behaviour change. Dr Browne is a research fellow at The Australian Centre for Behavioural Research in Diabetes (in Melbourne, Victoria), where she has worked since January 2011. She manages and leads numerous studies, including the national Diabetes MILES – Australia survey, a randomised controlled trial evaluation of a community-based type 2 diabetes health service, and a program of research about social stigma in diabetes. Dr Browne has published widely in national and international journals on the psychological and behavioural aspects of living with type 2 diabetes, and every year gives numerous invited lectures to healthcare professionals, researchers, and people with diabetes.
