About the Presenters
Lauren Atkins Senior Oncology AdvAPD, Co-Director, OnCore Nutrition
Lauren has worked in cancer care and survivorship for over 10 years, with particular expertise in oncology and haematology. She co-founded her business, OnCore Nutrition after having spent her career working as a Senior Dietitian at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, The Royal Children’s Hospital Cancer Centre, Epworth Freemasons, as well as providing education for Deakin, Monash, LaTrobe, Victoria and Melbourne Universities. She has vast experience in using good nutrition to help prevent, manage and overcome cancer, from diagnosis through to survivorship and palliation. She is a member of the COSA Nutrition Group Executive Committee and has been invited to contribute to national cancer care frameworks and present much of her research at national and international conferences. Lauren has undertaken advanced training in natural and integrative medicine to better advise individuals and groups on the safe and appropriate use of complementary therapies.
Elise Den Senior Oncology APD, Co-Director, OnCore Nutrition
Elise has more than 10 years’ experience in oncology nutrition. She has spent much of her career as a Senior Dietitian at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and is Co-Founder and Co-Director of her business OnCore Nutrition. She has a strong passion for oncology nutrition and eating disorder management and utilised best-practise to optimise the health outcomes of individuals and groups during and after cancer treatment. Elise has experience in implementing enhanced recovery after surgery protocols and has been recognised for her expertise in gastrointestinal and head & neck cancer care. She has presented her research at national and international conferences and has extensive experience in education and student supervision. She has advanced training and experience in eating disorders and in natural and integrative medicine to better advise groups and individuals on the safe and appropriate use of alternative therapies. Elise is also a member of the DAA Oncology IG leadership group.
