About the Presenter
Dian Shepperson Mills, Cert Ed (Victoria University of Manchester 1971); BA (Education & Psychology, Open University 1980); Dip ION (Institute for Optimum Nutrition, London, 1991); MA (University of Brighton Faculty of Health Department, 1996).
Founder and director at the Endometriosis and Fertility Clinic, Dian tutors on endometriosis, infertility and nutrition at the Institute for Optimum Nutrition (ION) in London.
Her research focuses on endometriosis, male and female fertility, and the role of the microbiome in oestrogen balance and immune support. She is currently studying the link between gliadin and sub-fertility.
Throughout her long career, Dian has published papers, book chapters, and lectured at scientific conferences worldwide. She is a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, attending ASRM meetings since 1997. As a member of the World Endometriosis Society, she has presented research at their world-wide, bi-annual meetings since 1989. She has published Endometriosis: A key to healing and Fertility through nutrition (Shepperson-Mills & Vernon 2002); Making Babies, the Nutrition Recipe (2008); and Integrated Approaches to Infertility, IVF and Recurrent Miscarriage: A Handbook (2016).
Dian is a Trustee of the Institute for Optimum Nutrition (an educational charity providing a B.Sc. degree course in Nutritional Therapy), with the University of Portsmouth. She is a member of the British Association for Applied Nutrition & Nutritional Therapy) and is a Certified Nutritional Therapist with the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council under the Department of Health.
