Josephine Pizzinga is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian currently working in Community Health at IPC Health in Melbourne, Australia. In the past two years, she has initiated a multidisciplinary approach with the High Risk Foot Clinic team for the management of diabetic foot ulcers. This collaboration has given rise to other projects including the addition of a pressure injury referral pathway, and increasing pressure injury related referrals from health disciplines such as Occupational Therapy.

Josephine’s research was a result of her previous work with Deakin University on the SMILES trial, a Randomised Controlled Trial investigating the efficacy of dietary improvement in the treatment of Major Depressive Episodes.

Kate Hawkins is a qualified podiatrist at Community Health at IPC Health in Melbourne, Australia. Her specialty and interests in podiatry include wound management, biomechanics and sports podiatry.

In the past five years, Kate has been involved in the development of the High Risk Foot Clinic at Hoppers Crossing where she initiated novel management strategies to evidence-based practice, including wound photography to assist with assessments, and the development of the organizational Charcot management pathway. More recently, Kate has been one of the main instigators in a multidisciplinary approach for wound care at IPC Health.
