About the Presenter
Dr Fiona Jane is a specialist women’s health GP with over 35 years’ experience in Australia and America. She consults at Jean Hailes Centre for Women in East Melbourne and Clayton, and is a Research Fellow in the Women’s Health Research Program at Monash University. Her studies involve evaluating the health care needs of women of all ages, with particular expertise in hormone action, deficiency and therapy. Dr Jane is also co-founder of Healthy Mothers, Healthy Families (Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, Melbourne), a program that delivers health information and education to mothers during pregnancy and early post-natal period. This program has a particular interest in ways to improve health outcomes for socially isolated and/or disadvantaged women and families.
