About the Presenter

Mark Kennedy is a general practitioner from Geelong. He is Medical and Clinical Director of Northern Bay Health, a network comprising of three primary care practices and a community-based Integrated Diabetes Centre where GPs work with an endocrinologist, diabetes educator, dietitian and podiatrist.

Mark is founding Chair of the Primary Care Diabetes Society of Australia and an Honorary Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of General Practice at the University of Melbourne. His areas of medical research interest include diabetes, health literacy, the link between socio-economic status and health outcomes. He has many published papers and textbook chapters mainly focused on his areas of research interest and is heavily involved in the education of medical and other allied heath students and graduates.
