Lung cancer: case study

18 Sep, 2018

The case:

Karen is a 50 yr old woman diagnosed with T3N1M0 non-small cell lung cancer. Her treatment involves six weeks of chemo therapy and radiation.

Erin gives an outline of lung cancer and its medical treatment. She explains the chemo therapy and radiation side effects and in particular the timeline in which nutrition impact symptoms occur, many of them taking place after the six weeks of chemo therapy and radiation. Erin describes the nutrition management goals for Karen. She guides us through her nutrition assessment and provides detail of her dietary counselling and Karen’s progress.

Watching this presentation and completing the assessment can contribute towards assessable Continuing Professional Development hours
