About the Presenter
Gastroenterologist Dr Guru Iyngkaran is part of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease service at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. He has a PhD in Inflammatory Bowel Disease.
Along with Dr Edmund Tse and Dr Suresh Sivanesan, he set up the Gastroenterology Department at the Royal Darwin Hospital and is active in promoting this service as well as conducting research in the Northern Territory in collaboration with CSIRO and the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
Guru was a finalist in the 2015 Gastroenterological Society of Australia Young Investigator Award.
His other areas of clinical interest are bowel cancer, functional bowel disease and liver disease.
