Why controlling blood glucose level is critical during pregnancy
Psychological impact of gestational diabetes diagnosis
Management with diet and activity:
- Nutritional requirements of pregnancy
- Dietary guidelines including carbohydrate amount, type and distribution
- Activity guidelines
- Monitoring blood glucose levels
- Medications (metformin and insulin)

About the Presenter
Natasha Jo Leader has worked as a dietitian for 13 years and specialises in the management of diabetes in pregnancy as well as general antenatal nutrition. Natasha is also a qualified diabetes educator. She runs a private practice in addition to working in a tertiary care hospital. In addition to her patient load she has been involved in various research projects and provides education sessions for general practitioners and other health professionals.
