About the Presenter
Amanda Jackson is a clinical dietitian with expertise in managing adult food allergy, intolerances, immune disorders, gastrointestinal conditions and kidney disease. She has over 12 years’ experience and developed her initial interest in food allergy working in The Alfred Hospital’s Allergy, Asthma and Immunology Department. Amanda then moved to Royal Melbourne Hospital and whilst working in a range of other specialities areas (including kidney disease) she successfully established an outpatient allergy nutrition service for adults with complex food allergies, intolerances, gastrointestinal and immunological disorders. Amanda continues to work in this service to date as the senior dietitian with the Clinical Immunology and Allergy Department. She is also involved in resource development, teaching and training and presenting at national conferences on adult allergy and immunology topics. Outside of the hospital setting Amanda has a private clinic at Melbourne Allergy Asthma and Immunology Consultants. Amanda is also an active member of Dietitians Australia and the Australasian Society of Clinical Immunology and Allergy (ASCIA) – including participation on the Dietitians Committee.
