Breast cancer: case study
The case:
Michelle’s client is a 49 year old woman with a family history of breast cancer. When she discovered a breast lump, the diagnosis of breast cancer was quickly made and surgery was scheduled straight away. After her surgery, she was referred to the dietetics team at the Manchester United Hospital for nutrition support during chemotherapy, radiotherapy and ongoing Herceptin and endocrine therapy. In this case study, Michelle incorporates both her research and the latest evidence for nutrition care. She describes in detail how she manages her client with breast cancer.
