About the presenter
Suzie Ferrie is an Advanced Accredited Practising Dietitian based in Sydney. Since 2001 she has been the Critical Care Dietitian in the 54-bed intensive care unit at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, where she has been involved in establishing multi-disciplinary practice protocols and meetings. She has participated in several large multi-centre research projects investigating aspects of nutrition in ICU. Her PhD research looks at dietitians’ involvement in teamwork in the ICU setting, and includes the development of a validated tool to assess a dietitian’s level of involvement, and a survey of all 182 ICUs in Australia and New Zealand to obtain benchmarking data on the dietitian’s role. Suzie is an honorary Clinical Affiliate at the University of Sydney, involved in teaching dietetics, medical and nursing students.
