An introduction to Critical Dietetics
Critical dietetics is a broad-ranging field of inquiry. It involves exploration of the relations between dietetic practise and gender, race, class, ability and size. It is also concerned with the epistemology of dietetics and post-structural orientations to dietetic education. Finally, it explores the relations between dietetics, and art and poetry.
At the end of this presentation, learners will be able to:
Describe the historical and contemporary context in which Critical Dietetics has emerged
Recognise and apply the four primary areas of which Critical Dietetics aligns
Translate critical dietetics into research, education, and practice, specifically the health at every size paradigm
Watching this presentation and completing the assessment can contribute towards assessable Continuing Professional Development points.
