About the presenter
Dr Neil Hearnden has a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Queensland and a graduate diploma of Musculoskeletal Medicine from the University of Otago in New Zealand. He works as a family practitioner in Queensland and specialises in musculoskeletal medicine. He has been drawn to the preservation of bone health, in particular the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis and detection of vitamin D deficiency. He was involved as an adviser to Osteoporosis Australia in the development of vitamin D and calcium guidelines for general practice, consumers and nurses. He is a member of the Medical and Scientific Advisory Board of Osteoporosis Australia.
